A36 will be closed for 3 months from the beginning of April!
Getting to Bath's now a lot more complicated.Stabilisation work at Limpley Stoke means the A36 will be closed for 3 months from the beginning of April. Official diversions go through Frome and Radstock (See below for the full route) and we're advised not to try rat runs in a bid to shorten the journey. We're also being asked not to travel through Trowbridge or Bradford-upon-Avon as they haven't got provisions in place to deal with the traffic.
If you live, or need to get to, somewhere on the actual A36 you can but if not you'll be turned away pretty early on. During the work the following diversion will be in place:
LIGHT TRAFFIC
Northbound, we can get as far as Beckington on the A36.
From Warminster - just take the A362 through Frome, up to Farrington Gurney (or Radstock). Then either take the A37 to Bristol, or the A367 to Bath.
HEAVY VEHICLES
Northbound from Warminster - join the A350 north. At Chippenham take the A4 east until reaching Bath.
