How to Complain

1. What is the Public File?

Each local commercial radio station in the UK has requirements in respect of its music and local content, such as news etc. These requirements are set out in the station "Format", a document issued by Ofcom, the UK media regulator. The Public File contains details of elements Ofcom regulate over, such as music tracks, local news etc. It is intended to give you a better understanding of our output and what we are doing for the community we serve.

The Public File is available as a print out on request. Any comments on the file can be made to us or Ofcom.

6. Automation & Local Programming

Sometimes it is necessary to pre-record (sometimes called Automation) programmes on the station. Currently we only automate a maximum of 4 hours during weekday daytime and nothing during weekend daytime.

Some of our programmes are networked from off site. However on average at least 18 hours weekdays, 17 hours Saturdays and 13 hours a day on Sunday are from our premises.

7. Events & Charities we support

3tr FM regularly broadcasts information bulletins called "Actionline's". Recently we have supported Breast Cancer research, a local drop-in centre, Belarussian childrens' charity, Bath Cats & Dogs Home and the Dilton Marsh Carnival.

3tr FM was also media partner for the 10k run at Longleat in October 2007.

In the summer we also regularly visit and open charitable fairs, open days and fetes with the 'Spirit of Summer' at weekends.

8. Coverage Highlights

Fireworks Night

3tr FM was again involved with the local Garrison's fireworks night in Warminster. As well as heavily promoting the event we provided the PA with a roadshow to entertain the crowds as part of our 6th birthday celebrations. Profits went to local charities.

Cancer Research 10k Run

3tr FM was once again the radio partner for the Cancer Research 10k run on Sunday 14th October 2007. As well as promoting the event, we provided the public address information on the day.

Jailbreak

On Friday 6th August 2007 3tr FM's Breakfast duo Jono & Tess were arrested live on air for crimes against the music industry and for telling bad jokes. They were taken around Warminster, Westbury and Frome in the police van during the day to raise bail for the Wessex MS Therapy Centre. All together £230 was raised during the day to help people with MS in our area.

Frome Festival 2007

3tr FM was once again the radio partner for the Frome Festival in 2007. As part of this we supplied a reporter to create packages to run during the festival, looking at some of the previous days highlights and previewing some of the best bits for that day.

3tr FM and Travelwise National Bike Week 2007

3tr FM together with the local council asked for 5 contestants to ride to and from work for a week, to promote a greener life style. If they completed it they got the chance to keep the bike at the end of the week.

Other Projects

During late 2007 3tr FM will once again be involved with the Westbury Christmas lights switch on and will be the media partner for the Warminster Festival in 2008.
